How Ice Cream Maker Work

1. Prep: Chill either the machine’s built-in compressor, a double-walled bowl, or your liquid-filled containers as the manufacturer directs.
2. Mix: Whisk together your liquid base (heavy cream, milk, sugar, and flavorings).
3. Churn: Pour the liquid into the machine and let the paddle (or blade) stir the ingredients continuously as the temperature drops.
4. Set: Churning usually takes 20 to 40 minutes until it reaches a soft-serve consistency. You can eat it immediately or freeze it for a few hours for a firmer, scoopable texture.
